Forget the commuter train this week

This may be the last stint of nice days to ride into work. I normally catch a Amtrak style commuter train from the South Suburbs to Hyde Park. Today is the 3rd day in a row that I decided to ride the Concours into work. In the midst of rush hour traffic, being cut off, slowing to a stop at time, I am in a surprisingly peaceful zen like state of mind. Fully aware of the surrounding, I am one with the Concours as it smoothly maneuvers through traffic.

Amazing how differently we deal with these things on a bike, isn't it?

The world always seems right when I'm riding.

Riding a train would be interesting. How long is the trip?

My daily commute consists of a 15 minute bicycle ride from home to the train, a wonderful 24 minute express amtrak (lazyboy style booth seat), and a 10 minute walk to the library. The quality of life for this type of commuting is great. I occasionally reading on the train. More often, I like watching the scenery and listening to music (or snoozing).

Jeffry, I hope you've been able to get on two wheels to enjoy the spat of good weather we've been having lately.
